What Does Abundance Mean to You?
I started hearing and seeing this word a lot on social media and in podcasts over the last decade. But over time, I started wondering—what does abundance really mean? For the longest time, I associated it with financial freedom—life without worrying about money. But as I’ve grown, I’ve realized abundance is more than that. For some, abundance means having time to do what they love; for others, it’s about emotional fulfillment. My perspective on abundance changed after having a child—suddenly, it wasn’t just about financial freedom but also about having time to spend with my son.
At first, I wondered—does this make me greedy? But I’ve come to see that seeking abundance isn’t about greed; it’s about aligning my life with what truly matters to me.
I love the word abundance. It brings me excitement and motivation. At the same time, it is a word that sometimes brings mixed feelings.
There are moments when, in seeking abundance, I can’t help but feel guilty, doubtful, or even cynical. It reminds me of my experience with fortune tellers—when they say something negative, it’s easy to believe them. But when they say something good,I find myself skeptical. Why is that?
Maybe this is what people call a mental block. But is it, really?
I used to worry about my tendency to doubt myself and feel guilty about happiness or financial security. Of course, if these emotions take over completely, they can be limiting—perhaps even signs of past wounds that need healing. But over time, I’ve realized that these feelings aren’t inherently bad—they’re part of being human. Embracing abundance without guilt means recognizing these emotions, understanding their roots, and choosing to move forward rather than letting them hold me back.
Because…
Doubting yourself means you have a clear image of who you want to be. Instead of resisting it, acknowledge where you are and use that vision to keep growing.
Feeling guilty about being happy means you care deeply about others. True happiness isn’t selfish—it’s contagious. When you allow yourself to be happy, you inspire those around you to do the same.
Feeling guilty about having enough money means you value fairness. Instead of guilt, let your success be proof to others that achieving more is possible.
Being skeptical of positive outcomes means you are thoughtful, not naive. You can balance realism with hope, staying grounded while still pursuing your dreams.
If you struggle to believe in yourself and envision a positive future, all you need to do is gently rewire your mind with consistent affirmations. It may not happen overnight, but with time, your beliefs will shift. I know this from experience. It’s like adapting to new customs when living in a different country—at first, it feels unfamiliar, but with time, it becomes second nature.
